Buninyong Anglican Church
We’re a welcoming Christian community in Buninyong. Whether you’ve grown up in church or you’re stepping through the doors for the very first time, you’re warmly invited to join us as you are. We exist to make and grow disciples of Jesus, bringing together people across all generations to share in faith, hope, and community.
Our Sunday Services
Our Sunday Services are a core part of our Church life. They are times when we meet together with God to hear from Him through His Word (the Bible) and to respond to Him in various ways such as prayer and praise. Sermons are a key part of our time together. Typically they go for around 20 to 30 minutes, and most of the time we’re working our way through books of the Bible over a number of weeks. Sometimes we deal with topics or doctrine. People of all ages and stages are welcome at these services and encouraged to participate as they feel able.
8:15 am Traditional Service
This is a traditional Anglican Prayer Book service that runs for about 45 minutes. It’s a quiet, reflective service with a sermon, prayers, and communion. There are no sung hymns at this stage. Sometimes this service is cancelled for various reasons, so please contact us before you come to check that it’s on.
10:00 am Contemporary Service
This is a contemporary, less formal, child-friendly gathering. We have a range of musical styles in the songs that we sing, and while we have some corporate prayers typical of Anglican churches, the content of these varies over time. Communion is conducted every second week. Currently, we have a Sunday School style program for pre-school through to lower secondary school children called “Mustard Seeds”. This operates in school terms for a large portion of the service. There are also child- and parent-friendly spaces. Following the service, we gather in the hall for morning tea and a chat with each other.
10:00 am Online Service
If you’re unwell, away, or simply curious to see what our gatherings are like before visiting in person, you can easily join us online. We livestream our 10:00 am service every Sunday via our Facebook page, allowing you to watch live or catch up at a time that suits you.
Programs & Activities
Church life extends well beyond Sunday mornings — we offer a variety of regular activities and events designed to help every age and stage connect and grow in faith. From children’s and youth activities to small group gatherings and social catch-ups for men and women, there are plenty of welcoming spaces to build genuine friendships and grow in faith.
